That's crazy about the last minute change...that definitely would have thrown me for a loop.

I ran one small little low budget Christmas "5k" on year....in 18 minutes. Yeah pretty sure it was more like 2.1 miles instead of 3.1, hahahaha. SO short of a 5k it's not even funny.Erin @ UntilYouTrihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12148335549002018981noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8479790493268535319.post-73433882296188630472011-06-14T21:41:55.737-04:002011-06-14T21:41:55.737-04:00if we adjusted for the heat in miami, i'm not ...if we adjusted for the heat in miami, i'm not sure we'd ever have a race over 3 miles :) way to go with the flow and PR!!RunToTheFinishhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13995696358152941044noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8479790493268535319.post-41251717765055753872011-06-14T16:07:19.011-04:002011-06-14T16:07:19.011-04:00congrats!congrats!Triciahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16665644808858115598noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8479790493268535319.post-18575779514348431992011-06-14T11:55:58.240-04:002011-06-14T11:55:58.240-04:00Awesome job, way to go with the flow (and not thro...Awesome job, way to go with the flow (and not throw up on the finish line!).Running Ricighttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12860478500819594235noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8479790493268535319.post-87143650268617334702011-06-14T10:42:37.891-04:002011-06-14T10:42:37.891-04:00CONGRATS SAM!!! what a good note to end the racing...CONGRATS SAM!!! what a good note to end the racing season on! Awesome PR! In my half in February they changed the course from an all downhill to rolling hills course due to flooding. It was a tough change but we kinda just had to go with it...haha! It turned out well and was where I got my half PR as well! Crazy how we just learn to make the best of things ;) have a wonderful day!Juliahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17378429616486417815noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8479790493268535319.post-82678598859880800272011-06-14T07:20:13.684-04:002011-06-14T07:20:13.684-04:00congrats on the new PR, that's so exciting! i&...congrats on the new PR, that's so exciting! i'm hoping to be under 30 minutes before the summer is over... we'll see!

I agree with Pam, I would've been in a tailspin. Had to get race director's phone number and call cell from airplane on runway. That sucks.

My biggest adjustment I had to make was more mental. I was in the start area for my 2nd half marathon (and I didn't know a single person there, so I was doing this all alone) and my iPod had NO music on it. Not a single thing. 13.1 miles alone when you normally have music going is a very loooonnnngggg run!Fruit Flyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10747205899650070873noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8479790493268535319.post-79153431386903667402011-06-13T17:18:55.582-04:002011-06-13T17:18:55.582-04:00At first glance of the title post I thought that m...At first glance of the title post I thought that maybe you were taking on a new challenge.
