Marshmallow Legs and Whole Foods Nation

I thought that since my legs carried me 26.2 miles they might have an ounce or two of muscular strength. nope. Spin class last night proved me wrong. If you're wondering...yes, there was a small pond of sweat underneath my bike at the end of class. I think someone replaced my quads with marshmallows. They could have at least made them burnt marshmallows...I've gotta get into a bathing suit this weekend and I could use a tan. Anyways, the work-out was brutal and I loved every minute of it - my legs are totally going to get strong in that class. Think more like outer shell of a moon pie rather than the inner marshmallow.
Word to the wise: don't wear mascara to spin class. Raccoon Eyes are not hot on anyone. And yes, taking self-portraits in the locker room bathroom is completely appropriate.

Moving on to Whole Foods Nation. Everyone in my neighborhood is healthy, active, and skinny. Seriously. And everyone shops at Whole Foods. The store was packed at 9 pm on a Wednesday:
Line wrapping around the registers.

Tons of bikes in this city.
Either everyone in my 'hood shops at other grocery stores and just goes to Whole Foods for the experience, or they are all anorexic. Have you even seen anyone with a full cart in that store? No way Jose. Everyone comes out with free range eggs, organic yogurt, and 2 avocados. Don't judge me, I just came to get my mini cannoli and fruit tart. K Thanks.

And no, cannolis do not contribute to marshmallow legs - don't even think that. I refuse to believe you.

1. Do you have a favorite grocery store you use all the time or do you shop around for the best prices? I wish I had the patience to shop around and do the whole coupon thing, but I don't.
2. Do you sweat like crazy during workouts? I do. But my brother doesn't sweat much. His face just gets super red.

Happy Running (and spinning!),

If I lived there I would be so depressed. I appreciate skinny but being surrounded by it would make me have an anxiety attack. hahaha

I absolutely love spin class and try to go at least once a week! I describe my quads as jello afterwards. ;)

I would shop at Whole Foods but there aren't any close enough to where I live for it to be feasible.

I live in quite the opposite neighborhood as you - everyone at my local safeway is buying doritos, twinkies, and soda. I LOVE Wegmans, it's my favorite grocery store of all time. Trader Joes is a close second though. Safeway is across the street, so its a last resort.

I'm with Alyssa--I get most of my groceries from Wal Mart and no one there is keeping skinny buying free-range eggs. The nearest Whole Foods is an hour away, but I bug hubby once and month to take me on a date there for shopping and lunch. Love it!

Haha...so true about no one at Whole Foods having a buggy full :) We hit up Kroger mostly because we can not even afford Whole Foods (plus not as convenient). I certainly have ZERO patience for couponing.

I also sweat a ton when exercising...AND get tomato face. I just can't win.

Never had a Whole Foods canoli, but it looks delish. I like to shop at Trader Joe's and Whole Foods. My hubby jokingly refers to Whole Foods as "whole paycheck" because their items are so dang expensive.

Oh and I sweat like a man, actually worse then a man. It ain't cute.

I was starting to think you must live in Portland because it seems to be bike central around there, and I feel like I saw a Whole Foods on every corner during my last visit!

This is so unrelated, but I just saw you're going to be in Bend, Oregon the week before I am! I think there are races happening the weekend I am there, but I've been instructed that I am NOT allowed to race while I'm there. Bummer.

I have a publix a half a mile from my house, so that's really the only grocery store I ever go to. Unfortunately, it's close enough that my husband and I frequently both stop there everyday. If there was a Whole Foods nearby, we'd be even poorer.

I was just made fun of for my super-red face after a group run this week. Sadly, I'm also super sweaty.

The Whole Foods in Minneapolis is ALWAYS busy whenever I go there. I usually buy my groceries at Valley Natural Foods in Burnsville, since it's close to my workplace. I also purchase some items at Target, especially if I have coupons handy.

I sweat like crazy during the summer when I'm running outside.

I think we've got D.C. beat on bikes. We so have way more here!

Yeah people in this area are too fit. Agreed. My brother (who lives out in the burbs in MD) went biking around DC with me the other day and he just kept commenting on how many "jacked" 60 year olds went by lol.

And, UHM YES. I sweat in a ridiculous manner when I work out. And I turn the color of a tomato. I really am a mess.

I just shop at one store! I made the mistake of randomly deciding to go to a different store this past weekend and it was horrible...I felt so lost and I was thrown off.

Gotta love spin! I always have that pool beneath me as well. I don't even know where the nearest Whole Foods is but that cannoli looks marvelous!
