My goal for this race was just to finish, since it was my first full. The time doesn't mean much to me, but it you're wondering, it was: 5:14:59. I refuse to be embarrassed about that time even though it was 45 minutes after I expected to finish. I was not prepared for the heat of today and I did my best during the race, pushing myself as much as I could without risking serious injury to my body.
Did I walk a lot? Yes.
Did I finish every single step of 26.2 miles? You bet your ass I did.
I'm a marathoner and no one can ever take that away from me. It feels amazing.
